Stories In Real Time: Magnolia
Ken Schaphorst’s Magnolia is a loose set of variations based on a tango-inspired melody. It is his first setting for clarinet quartet, an instrumentation which had interested him for some time. Schaphorst titled the piece after the images of New Orleans which it conjures.
