The Onus Trio
The Onus Trio began performing in 1999, three years after its antecedent quintet was founded. Its first performances, part of a music series at Ze Mean Bean Café in Baltimore, were adaptations of the quintet’s working repertoire. Since then the ensemble has developed a body of work and approach of its own, which include a repertoire of original pieces, works by contemporary composers, and free improvisations. The trio has performed with guest artists Ralph Bowen, Freddie Bryant, and Todd Marcus. It has appeared on television with the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, and it has recorded its own album, Triphony.
